One of the primary vows of a householder in Jain religion is to visit a Temple and View and Do offerings and prayers to the idol of Tirthankar. A Tirthankar is an enlightened soul who has attained Nirvana and during his lifetime showed us the path of become our real self and how to attain Moksha and stay in the stage of eternal bliss forever.
An idol of a Tirthankar is placed in every Jain temple; to allow us to concentrate as we do meditation and through this process; rejoice in the infinite powers of our own Soul.
By looking at these idols; one gets immense powers to introspect one self; the good and bad that we are and if, where we come from is a place of abundance; care; compassion and giving or NOT. By praying to these idols; Jains surrender themselves to the power of their own soul and look at the possibilities that they want to create; and seek to source the energy of the salvated souls to become one like them.
No karmas can last long when a devotee worships in front of the Tirthankar idols. It not only becomes a ladder for going to heavens; but also to become Gods(Salvated Souls) by themselves.
In this performance of Darshan Dev Devasya – Gaurav invites you to excite this energy in us to seek the powers of our own self. He takes us to a journey of the temples he has visited and how these Arihant idols have energized him to his passion and energy that brings him to this stage of dance.
